"Spring Break" to Tallinn and Riga

After finding out that the university was closed for a week we decided to plan a great holiday! We decided to explore Tallin and Riga (mainly for the cheap pints and easy transport). We set off to Helsinki on the Friday afternoon, getting a "friends and burgers" meal to line our stomachs before the boat to Tallinn. The boat was great fun with some live music and since it was only 2 and a bit hours it went in very fast. After a good nights sleep we explored Tallinn's old town, stopping off at a few bars along the way. Our favourites were The Old Hansa and the Highlander Scottish pub.

The next day we got on the 5 hour bus to Riga which wasn't as bad as it sounds as we all had individual TV's to binge watch movies and TV shows. After arriving to Riga we found our airbnb which was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in (Gertrudes iela 30 2, Riga, 1011, Latvia is the address if anyone is looking a cheap place to stay). The next morning we woke to smells of a cooked breakfast (Ben earning brownie points) to set us up for our day of exploring ahead. Riga was beautiful, lots of nice streets to walk around and fun museums to visit. It was much cheaper than Tallinn so that was a bonus too.

After our day of exploring we wondered around the bars until we found a karaoke bar and as you can see the boys gave it their all.

Overall we really enjoyed both cities and are all so glad we got to go and explore areas outside of Finland.

We hope to go back to these beautiful cities again (hopefully with our fearless leader Michael this time).
